My story begins here...
A bit about me and what I believe in:
Hello lovely! I’m glad you’re interested in learning more about me, why I do what I do and how it relates to you.
I’m a yoga educator, mind-body coach and singer… but like most of us, who I am and what I offer is largely shaped by what I believe.
I believe in celebrating life through all it’s phases. I believe in honouring the cycles of nature and leaning into their wisdom. I believe in the value of sharing our stories. I believe in listening to your body, to your intuition and to your heart. I believe in pursuing your passions and following your bliss and…I believe in magic.
We all contain magic. How do you contain your magic?
I believe it’s about holding space for vitality, creativity and alchemy. It’s containing what nourishes us and casting away that which no longer serves us so there is room for transformation. In my experience, your magic is only as powerful as your ability to hold it, to focus it and to own it.
I am passionate about sharing how self-care, yoga and mind-body wisdom can help you to rekindle your unique spark…your magic, and embody your creative fire without burning out.
Positive transformation, freedom and creative expression are my guides.
We all have a story…
What is the story of your body… of your breath… of your mind?
Let's take a deeper dive together.
My story may be much like yours…
When you were a child… before the world sat on your shoulders… what were the things you liked to do?
How did you imagine yourself when you had time to visualize, when you had time to dream, when you had time to just be with yourself because there was nothing else pulling you in any other direction?
Maybe, like me, you looked for adventure. You looked for something outside of yourself so that you could truly experience yourself through the world… through play and imagination… through your relationship with nature, with people, with art.
If you’re like me, you were a seeker. You ran through fields at dusk finding fireflies… hesitating before putting them into a jar. You remember wanting to hold that magic light, but somehow knowing that a firefly is more magical when it’s free… you held it in your hand for a moment and then let it go.
I remember this and I bet you do too…
As a young child, you were in the natural place of your awareness. You lived fully in the present moment, free from overthinking and self-judgement. Your work was play and looking for fool’s gold in a pile of rocks or for beautiful shells at the beach was not a waste of time. Your senses were fully immersed in what you were doing. You were in the flow.
When you needed something, you asked for it. When you were angry you cried or screamed, when you were joyful you laughed or danced. When you wanted to run, be spontaneous, jump around, reinvent yourself, you just did it because there wasn’t really any reason not to. You were open and authentic.
Your inner world was strong. Your inner world was big. It gave you room. It gave you freedom. It gave you joy. That was me.
But, my story took a few twists. Perhaps you can relate…
And as the years went on, that space got squeezed out by other people’s noise.
When you are strong, others come to you for comfort and stability, and you are happy to offer the best of yourself to support them. Your heart is big and it loves to give, but sometimes it has neglected to give back to itself.
With time, this erodes your sense of self… where you meld into your relationships to a point where you don’t even remember who you are.
And yes, for me, these things were part of being a woman in all her many roles. These were acts of both kindness and responsibility, putting the focus on others before yourself. It was the right thing to do, but if you’re a bit like me, often you’ve allowed too much.
Then the moment came when you noticed yourself going through the motions of your everyday while being somewhere else in your mind…where you feel conflicted between duty and desire…where you sense guilt creep in as you contemplate making the changes you so need to feel more alive….to feel like yourself again.
Bringing it home…
If you’re a lot like me, your soul calls you to be of inspired service to others and to use your energy… your flame…to light the path for those in need, but that fire is what kindles your spirit too. You are responsible for tending to that fire before it burns out. It is the energy that feeds your mind, body and soul.
When you prioritize your selfcare and are living the best, most authentic version of yourself, you inspire others to do the same. That’s where the magic happens.
My mission and vision:
This need to honour my true self is what made my pathway clear and set me on my journey to becoming a yoga educator, mind-body coach and to find my voice again as a singer. My passion is to help people move beyond the ordinary, embrace new possibilities and step into the radiance of their full creative potential.
Life itself is an expression of creative potential. It is where energy takes form. Creativity sits opposite survival on the lifeforce spectrum. Mind-body (or somatic) practices can liberate energy consumed in survival/stress mode and redistribute it towards creativity and self-actualization.
In other words a somatic approach and coach can help you to find the energy to support your goals and to pursue your passions. Self-actualization springs from a foundation of safety, belonging and dignity, which are at the core of my teachings.
About yoga…
Yoga is a lot of things to a lot of people and is offered in a lot of styles that I have learned, practiced and taught. But through the years, I have boiled it down to this:
Yoga is a system of personal energy management, that when optimized, can support you in living your best life, with more ease and more fun.
The essence:
I believe in being happy and living an extraordinary life. Yoga, mind-body practices, a natural intuitive ability and a healthy discipline are my tools for transformation. My core value is freedom.
Working with me is an invitation to honour where you’re at, create a pathway to discovering your unique gifts and to unapologetically embody your truth and your joy.
